Are you new to Hello Wonder? Welcome! I’m Wonder Mom Desiree. Recently, I chatted with our cute and clever mascot, Wonder the Axolotl, about how to use the app. The two of us can’t wait to share it with you.
Desiree: Hey Wonder! How are you?
Wonder: Hey Desiree! Wonder the axolotl here. I’m doing great! Thanks so much for coming to talk with me today. I’ve been looking forward to it! What questions can I help you answer today?
Desiree: Where should kids begin when first using Hello Wonder?
Wonder: That’s a great question! I always want to help others, and I know how tough being the new kid at school can be. I hear it from Wonder Kids all the time. So, I wanted to put something that would help kids get started! Like Mr. Rogers says, “always look for the helpers.” That’s what our chat helpers are—helpers for the kids!
At the top of the screen, there’s a row of colorful boxes. Each box has a different question or activity suggestion on it. For our little friends who could use a little help reading, we’ve added AI-generated pictures to every box so you know what it’s about without having to read a thing.
Desiree: What comes next, Wonder? After checking out the chat helpers, what should the kids do next?
Wonder: Wow, another great question! I can’t wait to talk about this. The next part of Hello Wonder is the biggest part! It’s called the stage, and this is where the magic happens.
Whenever a Wonder Kid tells me they like something or that they want to learn more about something, several rows of activities will be generated based on what they like! They could be videos from their favorite shows, instructions on how to make something, a new dance routine, anything really! Or, if a kiddo isn’t sure what they might want to learn about that day, I can make some suggestions for them based on what their parents have told me about them.
Desiree: How can the Wonder Kids tell you what they like?
Wonder: Oh gosh! How did I forget to tell you about this part? It’s so important, and another magical thing about Hello Wonder. I love talking to the Wonder Kids, and they love talking to me!
If a Wonder Kid wants to talk to me, they can tap on my picture at the bottom of the screen and type what they want to tell me, or just press the purple microphone and start talking! It's easy peasy lemon squeezy. I like to call this part of Hello Wonder the chat box because I keep all our chats here! I love telling Wonder Kids riddles and jokes.
Desiree: What happens if a Wonder Kid watches something and wants to see it again?
Wonder: Oh, I know just what you’re talking about! I love watching videos with my friends, and sometimes, I see a great video and want to share it with them. So Hello Wonder made that super easy! Way up at the top of the screen, in the left corner of the screen, there’s a super sparkly oval in light purple that says “Explore.”
Once you tap on that, you’ll see an option that says “Recents.” This is where everything you’ve been up to is kept! All the videos, the fun crafts you’ve learned about, the games you’ve played, all the things! Just scroll through to find what you were looking for.
Desiree: When should parents download Hello Wonder?
Wonder: Parents should get it today! Wonder is available in the Apple app store right now for you to download (Android and web are coming soon!). We keep kids safe online, and the best part? They’re learning a ton while using Hello Wonder!
Parents, in the AI instructions box, tell me what your kiddo is like and what you want them to learn about or focus on, and I'll take it from there! I'll consider everything you've told me, as well as what the kids tell me they like, and mix it all together to create a really fun adventure just for them.
Take a look for yourself, and download the app today, or visit us on our website to learn more.
